First Phase Wrap Up and Second Phase Plans

Time flies when you're having fun. I'm an overly organized reader. I plan how much I need to read a day on average and love to plan events months in advance. In order to plan my reading easily, I have divided the year into three zones/phases/periods corresponding with my big holidays. Now that the first period is coming to its end, I want to share my feelings on the past four-and-a-bit months and tell you what I'm planning.

For Your Information:
First Period: 1-1 to 8-5
Second Period: 9-5 to 21-8
Third Period: 22-8 to 31-12
Note: The first period does not have a 'plans', nor does the last period have a 'wrap up'. These will be semi-included in the 2016 Recap and 2017 Goals and Plans.

Wrap Up

Okay, this year is completely awesome thus far. I have a new blog background, I have a Twitter account now, and school is going way better already. I am currently 10 books ahead of my TBR Challenge Schedule and I've gradually started writing a little again.

Here's a list of all the books I've read so far this year:
Winter by Marissa Meyer
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson
Animal Farm by George Orwell
To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
The Hogwarts Library by J.K. Rowling
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
Tintenherz by Cornelia Funke
Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
Looking for Alaska by John Green
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas
Stars Above by Marissa Meyer
After You by Jojo Moyes
The Hybrid Chronicles by Kat Zhang
(If you want to know more about the books I've read in the past, click here for my Goodreads profile. If you want to read reviews from the previous year, click the page above labeled Books & Reading)

But there have been countless more exciting posts and events the past months.
Here is a list of my discussion posts:
(If you want to find more of these, I’m planning on fixing a little page with links for this one too.)

Here is a list of the movies I've watched this year:
Zootopia (It's called having a younger brother.)
Snow Piercer (Beautiful and a bit weird.)
(These too still need to get a link page...)

Obsessions of the past few months:
-Hamilton
-Melanie Martinez (My favorites are Mrs. Potato Head and Pity Party)
-Non-canon HP ships (That's a bit of a weird one.)
-Writing
-Forgiveness surrounding racism and the Holocaust (The Girl Who Forgave The Nazis)
-This new Dutch show surrounding the social experiment of putting twentysomethings in a tiny dictatorship
-Collecting all my favorite songs of the past few years
-Twitter
(This is such a weird list...)
-My dream of going to the Central Library of Utrecht
-YA Authors
-Shipping people in my class, as well as squeezing them into factions/districts/Hogwarts houses
-16 personalities tests (I'm INFJ)
-How the way we fill in tests and answer questions might say as much about ourselves as the results of the test itself
-The effect of your upbringing on the rest of your life
-The US presidential elections of this year (Same as the rest of the world.)
-Much more that I have temporarily forgotten

What's To Come?

The next couple months are going to be real exciting for me. Here are some dates of what my life will contain soon.

Travel:
-I am going on an excursion to Berlin with my German class! If you've seen a previous post of mine, you'll know that I have been to Berlin with my family last summer, but that was just one day. This is three days! It's also two ten-hour-long bus drives, which sucks, but I'm taking a good book with me and something to write with (either pen and paper or my tablet, probably the latter). My brother doesn't want me to leave, so we'll have to fix that, and I'm dying with nerves. Still, I can't wait to go.
What this means for you guys: No way to work on blog posts from 17-05 to 20-05, but I consider writing a big one after I come home to share my experiences.
-This summer vacation, I'm going to England! Sadly, not to see the Cursed Child or anything exciting. But I hope I can convince my parents to walk by platform 9 3/4 real quick when we're in London and that I'll coincidently bump into J.K. Rowling. Or, you know, a really big convention for YA authors and YouTubers in the center of the-garden-next-to-our-chalet from our-arrival to our-departure. I would totally be okay with that. And Danielle Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grind. And Jennifer Lawrence. And Emilia Clark. And Sam Claflin. And the Neville Longbottom guy. And Shailene and Theo. And Ansel. And Dylan O'Brien. And Josh Hutcherson. And Helena Bonham Carter. And Tom Felton. And all the fictional characters. Can we arrange all that? Yes, I live in a world where all the famous people live in the US or the UK.
What this means for you: Probably no/very little blog activity between 07-07 and 21-07, but very nice pictures with me and J.K. Rowling on Twitter. Maybe a short recap of my adventures in the World of Interesting People. And if above comes true, my interview with Katniss Everdeen, Harry Potter, and Celaena Sardothien.

School:
Seriously, though, the whole 'very-little-blog-activity' can be applied on the last few weeks before summer vacation. At the end of the year, teachers tend to shower us in assignments (in groups, of course) and then there's also the last test week that they're rushing towards. In short: I will be very busy throughout May and June this year. So expect series reviews rather than individual ones and fewer discussions and movie reviews. I'm so sorry.

Blog:
We -- more accurately, I -- are working hard to make this place better and better. As you've probably noticed, the background has changed, as well as the colors. The URL will change on the 19th of July 2016 (just noticed that I won't be at home then, so we'll have to figure something out) to itsquitealongstory.blogspot.com, so bear that in mind if you want to be able to track me on the Internet. My Goodreads account won't change, so you can always follow the link back to this blog if you need to.
Apart from that, I'm also working very hard on the Banned Books Feature that will rule my life throughout September and October this year. I'm so excited to start. You'll get a list of books and their dates somewhere in August and all fellow book bloggers are of course allowed to email me if they want to play along. (aninvisiblesongbird@gmail.com)
Side note: if you thought of something similar yourself, I do not own nor claim to own this thing hat my inane mind forged. I would just love to do this together, linking between people who have a special event about banned books, too. It does not mean we have to read the same books or in the same amounts.

Writing:
I started writing a short time ago and have already discarded my first project in favor of a new idea. I will obviously notify you if I finish the book (see the 'if') and link you to a not-yet-determined-place where you can read it. I would love to hear your opinions! If I continue the way I am now the first draft will be finished on a-random-date, maybe even never.
