Hogwarts Library Book Review

I am dying of fever and sore fever legs and disgusting lump in my throat (wanted to spare you the details but failed), so here's a short review of three cute short books.

The Hogwarts Library by J.K. Rowling

These little books are just too cute and with Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them coming up, I just had to read them. (Note: you do not have to read Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them to understand the movie coming out on November 17th.) (Is there an abbreviation for this title?) The books were cute and nice and made us all understand why Hermione is so obsessed with her homework.

Quidditch Through the Ages: My least favorite of the three, mainly because just like with Muggle sports: I'm not that interested in Quidditch. It's at least nice to know a bit more about the magical sport, since it's still an important part of the series. 3,2 or so stars.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them: Nice text book, I flew through the list of all magical beasts and the politics and history in the book about the wizard-creature dynamics was super interesting. About 3,7 stars.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard: By far my favorite book in the Library. I loved the stories, but maybe even more so: I loved Dumbledore's little notes at the end of every part. The drawings are very cute and again there's a lot of history and politics in this, only now focusing on Muggle-wizard relationships.
From least to most favorite stories:

  • Babbity Rabbity and her Cackling Stump
  • the Wizard and the Hopping Pot
  • the Warlock's Hairy Heart
  • the Fountain of Fair Fortune
  • the Tale of the Three Brothers <3
