First Steps

Okay, I decided to start a blog and now it's finally happening. Only it's not as easy as I thought it would be. In this blog I want to freely talk about the things on my mind (which are mostly books).
Since I have no clue how you add some text to the 'about me' part, I will start with a small introduction:

Hello. Let me begin with some introduction. I'm from the Netherlands. (You know, the little European country you learned some minor stuff about during geography which you immediately forgot?) The only thing that's really remarkable about us is the fact that we still haven't drowned. And even though I live, think, speak, write, and breathe English, I'm still going to make some mistakes. Forgive me.
I live with my parents and my younger brother and I'm still in high school (going to fourth grade in my country, no idea what you guys call it).

Things you should know about me

1. How I would live in books:
-Faction: Either Dauntless and deceased, Amity and never eating bread, or factionless.
-Aptitude: Everything except for Candor.
-District: District 7.
-Strategy in the Hunger Games: Hide and then finish off the last one, or stumble off my platform, of course. I used to say I would never kill, but I don't know if I'm that noble.
-House at Hogwarts: Ravenclaw or Hupplepuff. (I haven't read Harry Potter yet.)
-Daughter of: Hopefully Athena or Artemis, but probably not. Is there a god of reading and little social contact?
2. Reading:
-Favorite book: Don't make me choose.
-Favorite genre: Dystopian or fantasy, and always YA.
-Favorite heroine: *has a mental breakdown*
-Series or standalone: Series all the way, preferably trilogies.
-Favorite villain: ?
-Most anticipated release: Winter, the Lunar Chronicles.
-Reading speed: In my vacation, between eighty and a hundred pages. Last year at school, I read an average of fifty or sixty pages a day. I'm a slow reader.
-OTP: Am I supposed to pick one?
3. Movies and TV shows:
-Favorite book-to-movie adaptation this far: Catching Fire.
-Favorite Marvel character: Blink (X-Men: Days of Future Past).
-Most excited for: Mockingjay part 2.
-Best TV show: Game of Thrones.
4. Music:
-Best song: To Build a Home from the Cinematic Orchestra covered by Kelsey Snowdon.
-Best genre: Genres? How about soundtracks from adaptations?
-Best band: Too many good choices.
-Best singer: Rachel Rose Mitchell.
5. Writing:
Ever since I was a little girl, I thought of stories. I never saw writing them down as an option really, untill last year. I thought my subjects were too dark, too much torture, poverty, slavery, and misery. Turned out I wasn't the only one with some creepy ideas. The Hunger Games pulled me into reading and I've been hooked to books ever since, but I also picked up my stories again.
-Genre: Dystopian.
-Summary: Strictly secret.
6. How I got into reading:
Story time!
When I was in second grade, I had three friends. One got completely addicted to the Hunger Games. She basically infected my other friend immediatly. So, on this subject, we split into two forts: pro and contra. One day, they gave me a summary of the first book. They sucked at it. When I came home, I told my mom about it. She Googled it and said that I wasn't allowed to watch or read it. I said I didn't want to. Turned out that wasn't entirally true. I was a little cute girl with high marks, but I guess we all have a minor or major dark side. I watched the first two movies on my phone on a dubius website and wanted to read the books very badly, but I assumed I wouldn't be able to for forever. I read the story on the wikia some time later. When I went back to the website to look for the next movie, the website was gone. I started searching for a new place to watch the movies, but accidentely stumbled across a site where you could read the books online. I don't have to tell you what happened next. My friend ended up giving me a link for an app where you can watch free movies, where I watched Divergent and the Host. Obviously, I read those too. Before I knew what had happened, I had a TBR, was on Goodreads, and read faster than ever. Curious about my mom? She ended up okay with our difference in taste. And I think she was happy my puberty limited itself to changing my booktaste.
7. Reviews:
Yes, I write reviews. Duh. They will appear both on Goodreads and on this blog.
8. Fan art:
Yes, I make fan art. I wouldn't consider myself good, but I enjoy it.
Divergent fan art, I still have to make a background.
9. Ask me!
Ask me in the comments whatever you would like to know about me. I won't answer any questions about my adress, number, and other personal information.
If you want to stay updated on this blog, add it to your reading list. I'm open to advice for making this blog better/more popular/more interesting or easier to read. You can ask me to read and review your favorite book, but make sure you first check my TBR on Goodreads to look whether it's already there. If you want me to discuss something (book related or not) you can of course also request it.

Disclaimers

For your information, the picture I use as a profile pic was not drawn by me. I'm not even half that talented. It was made by 'la chapeliere folle' at DeviantArt. She makes really beautiful things and her fan art is incredible. Click here for her profile.
The background of this blog is actually just my screensaver. If you want to download it, click here for the website.
